How to use Portfolio Tracker
Keep a fictional position ledger to understand units, arithmetic, and record keeping.
Before you start
Use imaginary entries only for this exercise. Entries are stored in this browser; clearing site data can remove them. Optional premium features are separate.
Open Portfolio TrackerStep by step
- Select + Add Position and use a name beginning with ‘PAPER PRACTICE’.
- Choose a side, enter 0.50 in Entry Price (0-1), enter 10 in Shares, and select a date. Leave Market ID blank for the fictional example.
- Select Add Position and inspect the recorded cost. No external order is placed by adding this record.
- Use Export CSV to keep a copy. Inspect the downloaded file before relying on it as a backup.
Worked example
Ten imaginary YES shares at 0.50 cost five fictional points. At a later hypothetical price of 0.60 their marked value would be six points, a one-point change before costs. A displayed value is not a realized result.
What the result means
Manual records are only as accurate as your entries. Without a valid Market ID, live price refresh is not available. A paper ledger is not an account statement or tax record.
If something goes wrong
If records are missing, check that you are using the same browser and site. Keep an exported copy; do not assume cloud sync or CSV re-import is available.
Check your understanding
Export your fictional record and verify the share count and entry price in the file. Then remove the practice entry if you no longer need it.
